Project Based Learning in Engineering
About the project
PBLE (Project Based Learning in Engineering) was an FDTL 3 project involving
four institutions:
University of Nottingham
Loughborough University
Nottingham Trent University
DeMontfort University
The project's aim was to enhance engineering education by promoting and facilitating the use of learning through projects, thereby improving students' key transferable skills and their grasp of the subject content.
Through collating good practice on running projects in UK engineering
institutions, the project produced a variety of resources the key ones
being:
Guide:
The purpose of the guide is to help those involved in the teaching of
engineering to implement or improve the use of projects in their work
with students.
Staff development materials: Material aimed to promote the effective
use of projects in engineering teaching by providing resources for those
working with colleagues in this area.
